Buongiorno, volevo mostrare questo asse di Marco Titinius, l'ho acquistato ad un asta senza che indicassero lo stato di conservazione, a mio parere potrebbe essere un MB o qMB ma non sono un esperto di valutazioni, chiedo ai più esperti.

Veniamo alle conclusioni. Per quanto si può osservare dalle foto, la moneta sembra aver subito una pesante operazione di restauro consistente nell'inserimento sul bordo inferiore del dritto di un "dente" di cui non si trova riscontro palese nella foto del rovescio. L'aggiunta del dente spiega il peso e il diametro maggiorati rispetto alle monete reperite nel web.

Dalla tabella si evince che l'asse di figura (40,4g, 35mm) è più pesante e più largo degli assi reperiti nel web.
(2) La datazione è assunta dal Crawford.
(3) I è il segno del valore (= 1 asse).
(4) M•TITINI. Sostiene il Crawford che il monetiere Titinius potrebbe essere figlio di un M. Titinius, pretore urbano nel 178 oppure figlio di un M. Titinius Curvus, pretore per la Spagna Citerior (oggi Catalogna - v. map) nel 178.
