Per quanto consentito ad una valutazione a distanza,
la moneta di figura presenta caratteristiche
fisiche, generali e di stile comparabili con le
monete d'epoca della stessa tipologia. Nel presente
stato di conservazione, il valore venale della
moneta potrebbe, a mio avviso, stimarsi in c. 60€.

Dalla tabella si evince che il denario di figura
presenta caratteristiche fisiche (2,30g, 19mm,
12h) comparabili con quelle delle monete
autentiche reperite nel web.
(2) IMP C M AVR SEV ALEXAND AVG
(IMPerator Caesar Marcus AVRelius SEVerus
ALEXANDer AVGustus). Marco Aurelio Severo
Alessandro, originariamente chiamato Alessiano,
nacque intorno al 208 d. C., figlio di Giulia
Mamea e di Gesio Marciano. Nel 221 Severo
Alessandro, su pressione della nonna Giulia Mesa,
fu adottato dall'imperatore Elagabalo, suo cugino,
che gli conferì il titolo di Cesare. Dopo
l’assassinio di Elagabalo (agli inizi del 222),
Alessandro fu subito riconosciuto come imperatore
dalle guardie pretoriane e confermato dal Senato
il giorno successivo. Alessandro condusse l’impero
intelligentemente e bene, e le condizioni dello
stato migliorarono molto, ma l’imperatore subiva
troppo l’influenza della madre, e questo era
avvertito dalle truppe. Per i primi nove anni
l’impero non fu travagliato da guerre esterne, ma
negli ultimi cinque anni di regno (231-235 d.C.)
la pace dell'Impero, che era durata abbastanza a
lungo da giustificare la leggenda PAX AE-TE-RNA AVG
(PAX AETERNA AVGusti) del denario di figura, fu
interrotta dalle guerre alle frontiere orientali e
settentrionali (v. Ric IV/II, pag. 67). Nel 232
Severo Alessandro dovette combattere contro il
Sassanide Ardashir che aveva da poco spodestato il
regno di Arsacide in Parthia e che ora stava
minacciando la Siria e la Cappadocia. Questa
campagna incontrò solo un parziale successo, e
presto Alessandro dovette tornare in Occidente,
dove i tumulti alle frontiere germaniche
richiedevano la sua presenza. Tuttavia, prima che
la battaglia iniziasse, i soldati proclamarono
imperatore Massimino, uno dei loro comandanti e
uccisero Severo Alessandro e Giulia Mamea nel loro
campo vicino Magonza il 22 marzo 235 d. C.
(3) Il tipo della Pace che
avanza porgendo il ramo d'ulivo e sorreggendo uno
scettro è comune da Severo Alessandro sino
all'Impero delle Gallie.
